Why a Product Sprint?

The Product Sprint® is a framework designed for digital products to bring a working, testable product to market as quickly as possible.

  1. Rapid time to market

In 8 weeks, an idea becomes a product from scratch.

  2. More innovation

The Product Sprint process fosters “aha” moments and flashes of inspiration.

  3. Making decisions

Investments can be estimated early on.

  4. Everyone on board

Product development is an interdisciplinary process.

Specifically, how does it work?

The team setup

The team setup

A product becomes truly great when it’s viewed from a wide variety of perspectives right from the start and everyone involved is fully behind the result. That’s why the Product Sprint team brings together a diverse range of disciplines:

  • Developers, UX/UI designers,
  • Product owner
  • Project managers
  • Decision-makers
  • Customer service representatives (or other employees who work closely with customers)
  • Optional: marketing and end customers as well
Design Sprint

Phase 1 (1 week)

Design Sprint

We start with a concise phase based on the classic Design Sprint: Over four days, we identify the problem and develop a solution, then immediately build and validate a prototype. On the fifth day, we define the next steps and the scope for implementation.

Implementation

Phase 2 (6 weeks)

Implementation

Right on the Monday after the Design Sprint, the team gets ready to implement the first version of the product. And then: 6 weeks of hard work.

Validation

Phase 3 (1 week)

Validation

Now the product is being tested by real users, though you can also start by selecting a small group of potential customers.

What are the benefits of a Product Sprint®?

What are the benefits of a Product Sprint®?

At the end of the Product Sprint®, you’ll have tangible results:

  • Prototype from the Design Sprint
  • Initial reactions from the target audience
  • Market-ready product version
  • End-user testing

Most importantly: We don’t leave our clients on their own afterward. Together, we determine how to make the most of the insights and test results.

““MeinZuhause und ich” served as a flagship project demonstrating successful agile development in a cloud-native context. Through their goal-oriented approach, codecentric and UX&I were able to demonstrate that the Product Sprint enables a significant acceleration of the development cycle while maintaining a high level of quality.”

Product Sprint® in practice

Provinzial Rheinland

In a very short time, Provinzial Rheinland, together with codecentric AG and us, succeeded in validating the product idea: a platform for connecting customers with tradespeople on the market.

The platform is live, delighting customers, and is continuously being refined and expanded. In 2020, it was honored as “Brand Experience of the Year” at the German Brand Award.
