The German UPA’s new industry report has been published. For the 14th time, the professional association provides an overview of the German UX landscape. The report also lists the most well-known UX companies. UX&I ranks among the top 10 for the first time.

Every year, the German UPA (Professional Association of German Usability and User Experience Professionals) surveys UX experts on the current state of the field, trends, and future developments in their area of work. The industry report summarizes the findings and provides valuable insights and a basis for decision-making for both emerging talent and experienced professionals.

In response to the question, “Which companies in the German-speaking world come to mind immediately when you think of usability/UX?” UX&I ranked among the ten most frequently mentioned organizations in 2020. It is noteworthy how quickly the company, which emerged from Design Instanz as recently as 2017, has joined the top 10 alongside industry giants such as eresult and Ergosign.

Despite all the challenges, 2020 also contributed to UX&I’s visibility, for example through major client successes: Instana was sold to IBM for an estimated $500 million, and Provinzial received the “Brand Experience of the Year” award. Likewise, UX&I’s flexible, open approach to work proved helpful in 2020: Right at the start of the pandemic, we successfully conducted 16 Design Sprints remotely within eight weeks. We also quickly transformed educational formats into digitally valuable events. Tobias Schlei, Managing Director of UX&I: “At UX&I, we have 28 knowledge-hungry employees who love to share their collective experience with the community. With the launch of our knowledge section, we’ve created a platform for this. Beyond that, we were also active at conferences and seminars. Successful projects and new clients have helped us become even better known in Germany. We’re looking forward to next year: because we have big plans.”
