Two new clients in logistics and port operations

UX&I has gained two new clients in the logistics and port industries: an agile SaaS startup and a large enterprise. One is B2B, the other is B2E. The core focus is the same in both cases: We help ensure that technology reaches the people who work with it.

Logistics is no easy field. System landscapes that have evolved over the years. Processes that are highly confidential. AI that must be implemented under tight deadlines and still be expected to work.

Simply introducing good technology isn’t enough. It has to hold up in real-world operations, whether it’s a startup looking to turn initial sign-ups into actual users or a large corporation that has invested millions in automation and AI.

Port processes, AI features, a largely unexplored target group

The startup is developing a specialized application for complex port processes. AI features are designed to enable users to make quick, reliable decisions, all within a target audience about which little is currently known. We’re starting with expert reviews and quick wins: The team sees initial improvements right away, and at the same time, we’re laying the groundwork for a long-term UX strategy.

Automation that makes a difference in operations

For large enterprises, the focus is on system landscapes whose interfaces must be ISO-compliant, accessible, and reliably controllable. Heuristic evaluations serve as the foundation for ISO compliance testing, supplemented by accessibility audits. Participant observation and interviews with users then reveal what the systems truly need to function effectively in day-to-day operations.

Understand first, then design

What both projects have in common: We don’t start with solutions. We start by understanding where the problems lie, and why. Human-centered design isn’t just an add-on to our methodology; it’s the foundation that ensures technology truly works.
