Careers

Senior product designer

Hybrid, based in Düsseldorf, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, or Frankfurt

As a senior product designer at UX&I, you’ll conceptualize and design complex digital B2B/B2E products with a focus on big-tech companies. Your solutions will enable people to do their work more easily and with greater enjoyment.
You’ll work with your colleagues on a product team that integrates seamlessly with our clients’ teams. You’ll guide the entire process as an equal partner with all stakeholders. You’ll be in charge of the design from start to finish.
You’ll gain a deep understanding of a wide variety of industries and companies, from startups to large corporations. It’s never boring.

What you’ll do

  • You’ll be responsible for UI design within the product team.
  • You’ll give it your all to build the best digital products. Working closely with product management, UX, and research, you’ll analyze user groups, usage contexts, and the market environment to identify the design problem.
  • You create pragmatic, component-based, and sustainable design solutions. Pixel-perfect or a prototype first? You know what’s best.
  • You’ll define design languages and develop design systems or expand existing ones.
  • You’ll ensure that your UI design is implemented perfectly: You’ll create pattern libraries, oversee the handoff to the developers, and work closely with the development team from the very beginning.

What you bring

  • As a seasoned professional in UI design and digital product development, you’re looking to take your career to the next level. Like all of us, you have at least 10 years of experience, whether at an agency, consulting firm, or in-house.
  • You’ll stand out with an understanding of front-end development and developer experience, or with a tech startup on your resume.
  • Your portfolio showcases top-notch UI designs and an excellent understanding of UX.
  • You’re passionate about modern SaaS products, familiar with the latest design patterns and UI trends, and driven to continuously improve the design. You come up with the right, smart solutions and know how to inspire both clients and developers with them.
  • You know how to work pragmatically on problems as part of a team: from collaborative ideation to quickly gathering feedback to efficient, goal-oriented meetings.
  • You take the initiative to tackle your tasks on your own and drive them forward proactively.
  • Your inner drive won’t let you stand still. You want to move forward and grow.
  • You’ll also be working in an English-speaking environment, so excellent English and German skills are essential.
We take a human-centered approach

We take a human-centered approach

To ensure that we don’t just preach a human-centered approach to our clients but actively live by it ourselves, we at UX&I are organized according to sociocratic principles. Above all, this means a great deal of personal responsibility and freedom to make decisions for each and every one of us. You can learn exactly how this works in this article: UX Mindset Meets New Work: Why We Work in a Human-Centered Way

  1. Your team

Thanks to the high level of seniority among our employees, we have a wealth of experience from which you can learn, even if you already bring a lot of expertise to the table.

  2. Family friendliness and work-life balance

It doesn’t always have to be a 40-hour week, and the workday doesn’t always start at 9 a.m. Our flexibility begins precisely when circumstances change. Whether you work more or fewer hours, for whatever reason, isn’t a taboo topic here; it’s part of our culture.

  3. Hybrid work

Work from home or in the office, whatever works best for your lifestyle and the project at hand. However, we’d like you to work in the office at least 2 days a month. That’s why we recommend living within commuting distance. You decide what “commuting distance” means to you.

  4. Health

You’ll be well covered with supplemental private health insurance from Allianz.

  5. 4+1 model

We dedicate 20% of our work time to helping shape our organization and to our training. You can set the priorities for your own development however you see fit.

  6. Circle-based organization

Our organizational model is a core focus for us. The way we structure ourselves and interact with one another is continuously refined by everyone. We have no hierarchies, but rather flexible roles within flat, non-hierarchical circles, so that everyone can reach their full potential.

  7. Green mobility

Want to get around in an especially eco-friendly way? Chat with Marie about your company bike, your Deutschlandticket, and/or the right Bahncard or car-sharing service for you.

  8. High-quality equipment

Here’s what you’ll get: a MacBook Pro, a cell phone with a service plan, wireless noise-canceling headphones from Sony, an Invisible Laptop Stand from Moft, a backpack from Salzen, a UX&I-branded laptop sleeve, and a mouse and keyboard from Apple or your favorite manufacturer.

  9. Internet

We’ll cover the cost of your home internet connection, up to €50 per month.
